| Bio | Melody has had a passion for worship music since childhood. She grew up in a home filled with piano, guitars and drums – lots of music. She started piano lessons at a young age and later studied piano, voice, and music theory along with Elementary Education, earning degrees in both areas. Her mother, a former music teacher, has always been her inspiration for keeping music fun and inspiring. Melody has been worship leading for churches and special events for the past 21 years, becoming the Director at LUMC in 2005. The highlight of her role is helping people connect and commune with their Creator through the worship experience. Melody and her husband, Brian, met at Kansas State University. A few months after their wedding they ventured off to Asbury Seminary in Kentucky, following a call to ministry. Brian received his Masters of Divinity and Melody an M.A. in Parish Counseling and off they went into pastoral work in Nebraska, Kansas and Missouri. They have 4 wonderful young adult children: Kyla, Kari, Keith and Kaleb who have been the biggest blessings life could afford! Melody enjoys reading, songwriting, learning guitar, journaling, and Colorado adventures with her family – namely skiing and mountain climbing. She’s honored to help create meaningful worship experiences with many talented people at LUMC. |
